(Republican) Reichert campaigner quits over attack ads (GOP SOP?)
http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/localnews/2002031749_reichert10e.html

A chief architect of King County Sheriff Dave Reichert's run for Congress left the campaign yesterday because of his role in directing an advertising campaign attacking former state Insurance Commissioner Deborah Senn, who is running for state attorney general.

Bruce Boram, a Seattle-based political consultant, is director of the group behind the ads, the Voters Education Committee.

The group, which has spent at least $600,000 on television ads in the Seattle area, yesterday refused to comply with a state Public Disclosure Commission demand that it say who is paying for the ads.

Boram, who was Reichert's spokesman, strategist and a key fund-raiser, said he was stepping down because the furor over the ads was threatening to spill into the congressional race.

Political observers have named the 53- year-old sheriff as a top Republican contender, following Dunn's surprise announcement Friday that she would not seek a seventh term representing the 8th District, which covers much of South and East King County and parts of Pierce County.

Just more SOP for the GOP?

2. Follow the money.
Go to PDC.Wa.Gov to follow the money. Other groups closely connected include People for Honorable Representation and United for Washington. The same groups are showing up in Reichert's race, the ads against Senn, and also several pieces that have come out in the 25th district.
