Ex-mayor won't shy from 9/11 in speech (USA TODAY)
USA TODAY

NEW YORK — The man who led this city through its darkest days after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks will tell the Republican convention tonight that the nation is stronger because of President Bush — and his supporters should not be afraid to remind voters about the tragedy. ..

The former mayor's speech will "bring people back to their feelings in the days after that tragedy because those were, in the Bush campaign's mind, (the president's) strongest days," says Jennifer Donahue, a political analyst at the New Hampshire Institute of Politics. ..

12. There were some other times....

I remember reading that he cross-dressed as a Rockette once. Also that he refers to his cross-dressing alter-ego as "Rudia".

13. Rudia's Cross dressing antics were what won Donna Hanover
her Multi-million dollar divorce settlement.

Hanover's attorneys had threatened to subpoena Rudia's silicone titted- Mistress and dress-up playmate, Judy, put her on the stand and begin asking her questions about all the Make-over parties she and Rudia were holding at Gracie Mansion with the Giulianni brats just down the hall. (Some wonder Andrew is morbidly over-weight. I would seek solace in food if I came upon my father and his mistress trying on different shades of blush together.)

Needless to say, Rudia quickly ceded to Hanover's demands.

Rudia's career would have imploded if the stories of him in his peach silk bra and panties were ever aired in open court.

One concession on Hanover's part was that she was forbidden to ever write a tell-all book about Rudia and fondness for black sheer teddies.

At one time. I had a political flier that had surface in Chelsea with a picture of Rudia. Believe me, "Blonde Brick Shithouse" is being kind. The poster came out when Rudia was running against perennial political loser, Ruth Messinger, during Rudia's final run for mayor.

I had saved a copy of the poster for the purely grotesque quality of it. Unfortunately, I believe I lost after 9/11,when alot of my papers were covered and destroyed by the WTC dust.

Maybe its around and I should look for it and post it.

Rudia is not a pretty woman.

4. Many voters: 9/11 was three years ago. What has Bush done for us lately?
US voters, fortunately, have short attention spans. That favors Kerry over Bush.

6. They are really pushing New Yorkers
I think they want the city to explode into a frenzy or something. One has to wonder what would happen if New Yorkers did go nuts on them. What would the GOP do? Attention would be taken from the campaign messages, by civil unrest. The bush admin would end up heroes again, after surviving and 'saving' us from the crazies. I don't know but something feels very wrong here. I'm probably just being paranoid, but all of this is just so 'in your face'.

7. Bush hasnt done anything for NY before or after 9/11
Wasnt bush the one that ignored everything Richard Clarke warned him about before 9/11? So I can't give him credit for protecting us.

And after? Thank him for the poisoned air & water? the aid promised, never arriving? Stonewalling the 9/11 families for 2 years? Placing us 49th on Homeland Security List for funding? I have nothing to thank bush or republicans for. Nothing.

9. Well, it's true ... they want to incite a riot, the want a WTO style
protest - they know the police want a raise and hope the cops (some of them, to join them, or at least let it happen)so that they came blame protesters and Dems for all the nation's ills. Well, guess what... We won't give it to them. We disarm them by doing the opposite of waht they want.

8. And we will the them to ask Rudy, Why did Bush do nothing but sit in a
classroom for 7 min after the 2nd plane hit. Then we will ask them to tell Rudy why did Bush fight the creation of the 911 commission? and Homeland security dept?

Or you could just say,,, "Why did Bush knock down the Towers."

10. I'm sure the media will review Rudy's little arrangement so that
a group of cronies (inc. his then galpal) managed to get their mitts on money that supposed to go to NYC post- 911...

And his love life is also something the values crowd should be reminded of....

14. Puhlease!!
The former mayor's speech will "bring people back to their feelings in the days after that tragedy because those were, in the Bush campaign's mind, (the president's) strongest days,"

It is pretty sad that his "strongest days" involved
sitting in a classroom while all hell broke loose.
It is kinda pathetic that he thinks that a tragedy
was his greatest moment. If it is, he sure hasn't
done anything else since then that could be
considered great. His campaign must be
really desparate.

15. EXACTLY!!!
I rue the day when I consider the deaths of 3,000 people to be my 'strongest day''---if anything, as a human, I would consider that to be my weakest day, my saddest day, my most humble day. Certainly not my strongest.

That's like saying the day your best friend died was the happiest day of your life.

Morbid wording, no?

Of course, Georgie also said on TV (60 Minutes?) around Christmas 2001 that he and Laura had an "outstanding year" or something of that nature. Yeah. The worst attack on American soil and it's an outstanding year. Of course, it was his strongest day, after all :eyes:

16. Using it!
Just flipped the channels for a few min. Heard them say on msnbc that not only will ex mayor talk about 9-11 but will have widows talk, john mccain will talk about it and will show photos. In a way I am glad they are over doing it because I hope it slaps them in the face!
