"I was abused by soldiers": Hicks (Guantanamo Bay)
I was abused by soldiers: Hicks
By Roy Eccleston, Guantanamo Bay, Cuba
August 27, 2004
ALLEGED Australian terrorist David Hicks has pleaded not guilty to war crimes charges and has told his father Terry that he was beaten and abused by US forces after being seized in Afghanistan, at an emotional meeting on his first day before a US military commission.

But the fresh allegations came as Foreign Minister Alexander Downer released the results of a US Department of Defence investigation which found there was no evidence of abuse of either Hicks or fellow Australian Guantanamo Bay inmate Mamdouh Habib while in US custody.

But a spokesman for Mr Downer, when asked about a report carried in The Australian in May which alleged Hicks had been beaten by two US soldiers while in Northern Alliance custody in Afghanistan in 2002, said he could only point to the letter containing the results of the investigation.

2. Amazing, isn't it?
I've investigated myself and found out I am God. It's all in the official report. See how that works?
