"Vietnam Vets in Hanoi Back Kerry with T-Shirts"
Sat Aug 21, 2004 01:58 AM ET

HANOI (Reuters) - With the U.S. presidential race taking a decidedly bitter turn over John Kerry's Vietnam war record, U.S. veterans in Hanoi are selling T-shirts supporting his run for the White House.

"It's an effort on the part of a few of us to bring some attention to Kerry's war record to counter some of the allegations and some of the lies being made of his service in Vietnam," Chuck Searcy, who served for a year in Vietnam, said on Saturday.

The T-shirts being sold for $5 have "Americans Overseas for Kerry" on the front and a picture of President Bush's face with a line crossed through it.

2. Dumb, dumb,dumb...
Don't these people even know where they are? Do they want to send the Vietnamese around them the message "Hey, Kerry was more effective at killing you guys than the Republicans admit."

4. what a bunch of of crap
you think the vietnamese are fucking idiots ?

they understand the difference between the policy of the government and those who fought in the war. the vietnamese admire and love john kerry for what he did in helping end the war and in normalizing relations afterwards to make peace.

they aren't dumb ass ignorant extremists like the left and right is in this country who can't seem to figure out the difference between the government policy and the soldiers who fight in those wars.

many americans, including vietnam veterans visit vietnam now and the vietnamese people are very welcoming. kerry has visited vietnam and he is honored by them.

the extremist leftists want to blow it off in their black/white view of the world as kerry bragging about killing them. and the extremists on the right want to blow it all off as kerry being some commie sympathizer.
