Bad Blood Remains Between NYC & Republicans

http://1010wins.com/topstories/winstopstories_story_173...

Bad blood continues to boil between New York City officials and Republicans in Washington, leading to the abrupt cancellation of a Monday meeting at Mayor Michael Bloomberg's home with national party fund-raisers.

Bloomberg had been scheduled to host Thomas Reynolds, National Republican Congressional Committee chairman, and Bob Ney, co-chair of the NRCC's incumbent retention committee, at a lunch with wealthy politically active New Yorkers.

Sources who were to have attended Monday's meeting said it was scrapped after Bloomberg told officials that Ney would not be welcome at the event.

The mayor is angry that the Ohio congressman voted last week against moving anti-terror funding from rural areas to big cities.

1. Bloomberg asked for it and now he got it
A bunch of red-staters pouring into his city pretending like they care about New York, and now Bloom-boy is finding out the awful truth.

7. He had better change his tune or his
political career in NYC is over. I think things are going to get ugly during the Repub convention.

2. Gosh. Feel awful about that.
They wanted to use 9/11 for a photo op. Greedy, heartless, worthless trash.

May they never sleep.

3. Hmm, so the RINO mayor is going to give them a little trouble, eh?
Boy, that convention is going to be something, I'm sure. I just pray no one gets hurt as a result of that dark oppressive cloud (re-)descending on the city....

4. Wow
The convention oughta be exciting! If a couple of fundraisers aren't welcome, what happens when all the big boys come to town? Will Bloomberg boycott the convention?

5. How very sweet would it be
if they had to scramble for a new convention site at the last minute?

btw, I'm thinking of "volunteering" just to see if I could get clearance.

11. Is it inappropriate to hope for mass protests, and other difficult to
control trouble to happen during convention time? I'd be game to just go to the city with millions of other people and just stand around exerting our First Ammendment rights!

Amendment I

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.
