Fox News Poll: Kerry Leads Bush (poll taken June 8-9)
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,122378,00.html

The national registered voter poll finds the Republican incumbent would receive the support of 43 percent to Kerry's 45 percent, if the presidential election were held today.

Clinton gets a Reagan bounce? (Favorable jumps 5 points since last poll, unfavorable declines 7 points.)

Poor Fox tries to put a happy face on the bad news throughout the article.

5. All the punits must be scratching their heads in bewilderment.
Bush has had the media attention for the past two weeks with, WWII Memorial, D-Day, G-8 Summit and Reagan's death, and he's still sinking in the polls. All of the cable stations have been trying to convince us that Bush is the popular wartime President who could never be beat.

16. I agree. Bush himself has been convincing the American people
that he should not be president.

29. reminds me of the old saying:
"Better to remain silent and let the world think you're an idiot, then to open your mouth and remove all doubt." :)

I predict the more visible he becomes the worse he does in the polls, and with the election coming up he can't help but to be increasingly visible. Freepers and Foxsnooze talk him up so much that some undecided people forget a little and start buying the marketing. Then he comes along and reminds them what an idiot he is and there goes his poll numbers.

7. Kerry's strategy has been the correct one
He would have gained no ground or media attention by campaigning or fundraising during this time, and only would have earned the scorn of the corporate media.

He has showed class: publicly participating in the mouring process, yet not conducing a Norm Coleman style "non-campaign campaign".

I think those of you complaining about the Kerry campaign strategy are well-advised to lay off and let the professionals do their jobs.

21. Not again...
"I think those of you complaining about the Kerry campaign strategy are well-advised to lay off and let the professionals do their jobs."

You mean like in 2000 when an experienced VP couldn 't trounce a bumbling phony gubner with no experience at all? The stakes are too high for us to trust the DLC expertise. We all have to pitch in. Even if its only our 2 cents worth sometimes.

31. You had me up until that last sentence.
I agree with your post, but there's no need to be snotty to the people who would like a little fire from Kerry.

I'm beginning to think b*sh is toast anyway - the CIA and military wants him gone, so he'll be gone come hell or high water - so I'm okay with Kerry laying low for the moment.

Very unstable times, right now...

8. Don't ANYONE here get overconfident.
Unless Kerry wins by a very substantial margin, it's still "up for grabs". The people who groomed Bush for pResidency (from 1992 onwards), and pulled off that Florida coup, aren't the sort that gives up easily. I doubt they'd want to see open rebellion in the streets (they're ChickenHawks, remember?), But I'm sure they have contingency plans for massive dissatisfaction.

13. You're forgetting that this is a Fox News poll....
which means Kerry's lead is way better than what they report. They just can't bring themselves to report the truth.

Geez, what a pity that this whole Reagan croaking bit didn't do much for ole' bushie.

14. Nothing Less Than a Historic Landslide Will Do
Edited on Thu Jun-10-04 06:32 PM by AndyTiedye
If they're facing a landslide, they may simply give up, as they would
fear that their attempt to steal the election would fails as it did
for Shevardnadze a couple of years ago.

If it is anywhere close, they will steal the election again.
We know this for certain. We know what they did in Florida
in 2000, and they are all set to do the same again in 2004.
They stole a double-digit lead from Max Cleland in the Georgia
2002 Senatorial elections and the media went right along, buried
their own exit polls, and made up a bogus story about "angry white men"
coming out of the woodwork (even in black neighborhoods) to vote
Republican. This year's cover story will be the anti-gay vote.
Like the Nader candidacy (again), it doesn't matter if anybody
really falls for it, as long as they believe that someone else did.

This isn't over until the Bush* gang is behind bars.

15. After all the lies that been uncovered lately, Clinton's lie looks good!
Between shrub and Reagan and Clinton = no contest!
I have a sneaky feeling some of the public has been reminded of what Reagan *really* did, despite the sugar coating of the truth...

20. Voters Shift in Favor of Kerry
<snip>
Lifting Kerry is a powerful tailwind of dissatisfaction with the nation's course and Bush's answers for challenges at home and abroad. Nearly three-fifths believe the nation is on the wrong track, the highest level a Times poll has recorded during Bush's presidency.

Also, 56% said America "needs to move in a new direction" because Bush's policies have not improved the country. Just 39% say America is better off because of his agenda.

Majorities disapprove of Bush's handling of the economy and Iraq, despite recent encouraging news on both fronts.

23. The more we see of Reagan, the better it is for Kerry
Republicans thought that the Alcholic would get a three or four point jump in the poll's,but the more they see REagan and how he could communicate and his poise even though most of it was an act, the worse Bush looks...

Can't have a Faux article, or poll, that doesn't offer a chance to slam The Clenis- it's red meat to these people (or as another poster said earlier today, more like the "spice" from Dune

ON EDIT: But when * and Clinton are polling even at Faux, something is terribly wrong~
