(Honest John) Howard says finding WMDs still possible

The Prime Minister, John Howard, today maintained the search for weapons of mass destruction (WMDs) in Iraq would continue for some time yet, sparking Labor claims he was ignoring reality.

Although no WMDs have been found in the country despite intense searching by the US-led coalition since the invasion in March last year, Mr Howard said he was not willing to concede none would be found.

"I'm not willing to admit that. I saw a lot of intelligence before the war started and I was satisfied with that intelligence," Mr Howard told Channel Seven.

"Until all of the work has been completed, I'm not going to totally sign off on the issue."

He said the work of the Iraq survey group would go on for a long time.

"I'm not going to put a limit on it," he said.

The Opposition Leader, Mark Latham, said Mr Howard should raise with the US administration the fact that no WMDs had been found when he travels to Washington on Tuesday.

"I think Mr Howard and maybe a few other people are the only ones holding out against reality but no WMDs have been found in the time since the Iraq war," Mr Latham said.

6. Here is what is more stupid

John Howard was censured by his Senate for Australia's part in the Iraqi war. Of course the lower house holds the no confidence vote and the censure is nothing more that a political black eye.

Also Mr. John Howard is having a meeting with Mr. Arnold Schwarzenegger this week. Since Arnold selection as Governor of California he has been jet setting around the world meeting heads of states while his Arnold's state is going bankrupt.
