Three NBC journalists, Iraqi freelancer released after three days in captivity

BAGHDAD, Iraq (AP) Iraqi gunmen released three veteran NBC journalists and an Iraqi freelancer Friday, three days after the group was captured in Fallujah, NBC said in a statement.

The statement said local Iraqi leaders helped mediate with ''armed Iraqis,'' who let the reporters go ''after their identities as working journalists became clear.''

NBC identified the four as correspondent Ned Colt, cameraman Maurice Roper, soundman Robert Colvill and freelance Iraqi journalist Ashraf Al Taie. It said they appeared to be in good health.

4. Considering NBC's role in the war

Had the shoe been on the other foot our freepers here would gladly butcher defenseless Al Jazeera journalists. I don't think too many people worldwide understand the particulars of of our various media outlet's roles in pimping the war.

Lucky for them, but the resistance in general seems not to be made up of the Hussein thugs whom we have replaced with degraded American Gestapo controls.
