Pentagon says probe of General Boykin nearing it's end

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The Pentagon (news - web sites) has made preliminary conclusions in its investigation of speeches by an evangelical Christian U.S. general who suggested Muslims do not worship "a real God," but has allowed him to respond before issuing its findings, an official said on Wednesday.

The Defense Department's inspector general's office last October launched an investigation into whether the speeches given to church groups by Army Lt. Gen. William Boykin, a senior Pentagon intelligence official, broke any rules.

Chief Pentagon spokesman Lawrence Di Rita said the inspector general's office made "preliminary conclusions," gave them to Boykin and allowed him to make formal responses. Di Rita did not reveal the preliminary findings, and did not say when the final report would be issued.

....

Boykin, donning his military uniform, used speeches at churches and prayer breakfasts to portray the U.S. battle with Islamic radicals as a fight with "Satan," saying they sought to destroy America "because we're a Christian nation."

8. Boykin will be riding along side St. George when he
goes to slay the dragon. Nothing will become of this investigation. It is merely lip service paid to the citizens of this country.

3. Probe of Boykin nearing it's end? Someone at Yahoo is playing with
words - consider the light bulbs, broom handles and whatever else was used under Boykin's direction and in his god's name - his victims can only hope he gets his very own deep probe.

4. Oh, I'm sure they have determined that he suffers from PTSD,...
,...and should be locked up until GOD collects him!!

Seriously, the guy is a very, very sick and delusional and violent human being who should be heavily medicated and restrained so that he can do no further harm to himself or others.

:puke:

6. DiRita has concluded...hmmm excuse me
~~~
Di Rita said that "I think we've exhaustively concluded" that the interrogation procedures used in Iraq "were done in theater and approved in theater," not by officials at the Pentagon like Boykin.
~~~

Let's see what the rest of the investigation turn up first, shall we?

10. Boykin investigations have just begun; here's a short list:
Call it "THE OTHER 5-POINT PLAN"

1. Boykin shows Miller how to put the "GIT" in GITMO
2. Boykin urges Miller to GITMO-ize the Iraqi prisons
3. Boykin teaches Miller (to teach Abu Ghraib) about making Muslim prisoners to "thank Jesus for being alive."
4. Boykin teaches Miller (to teach Abu Ghraib) how to insist on providing Christian meals of pork for starving Muslim detainees, and to provide them alcohol to wash those meals down.
5. Boykin preaches to the converted Christian fundamentalists about how
to learn to say "Amen" to "gittin" needed intelligence from the Satanist detainees.

15. He was doing a PsyOps job on the American voters, no big deal
I don't even understand why this is an issue? Psychological operations and Propaganda are two major functions of any military - are you surprised that "our" military uses it on "us"? Boykin was sent to the wingnuts and fundies, but we had our own "liberals" who promoted the war.

made this piece of work. I remember the first photo I saw of General Boykin. His eyes had an unnatural glow about them. They were dark, and they betrayed a raging inferno on the inside.

This is the kind of man normal people would run from, because he's got plans for all of us. Something traumatic probably happened to this man as a child; maybe he witnessed his dad beating his mom, or he himself was beaten.

He grew up to be an adult WITH AN AGENDA. I've seen it before. Many times, people who need psychiatric help seek out churches for some structure in their lives. The more intense your problem, the more radical the church. It's on a sliding scale basis.

Now, someone posted here on the DU that this guy was involved with the siege at Waco. Remember that one? It ended in disaster. And shortly after that, it inspired a rebellious young man named Timothy McVeigh who later bombed the Oklahoma Federal Building.

If that's true, then this man has been responsible for American deaths, not just Iraqis deaths.

Randi Rhodes mentioned last week that General Boykin COULD be implicated in the abuse scandal at Abu Ghraib prison.

Oh, man.
