Bush mourns 56 deaths in 100 days since Iraq war ended
Agence France-Presse

-- The president paid tribute to the 56 US soldiers who have died in combat since May 1, when Bush declared major fighting over only a few weeks after Saddam Hussein was toppled from power.

"We suffer when we lose life," he said.

Speaking a day after a car bomb attack at the Jordanian embassy in Baghdad which killed 13 and wounded at least 50, Bush again refused to give an indication as to how long US troops would be in the country.

Bush appointed one of his major political fundraisers, Thomas Foley, to run Iraqi state-owned businesses and to draw up a sweeping privatization plan. ---

7. What about the other 64 American troops that have died since 5/1
Edited on Sat Aug-09-03 01:43 AM by Melinda
you murderous lying piece of shit of a pResident? Don't they matter too? "WE SUFFER"? The ones who loved them are the ones who suffer, not you!!

What about the 1,000's and 1,000's of innocent Iraqi's and Afgahni's and others who lie dead and rotting in their graves because of you and your corporate masters bloodthirsty lust for world domination and control?

Dieties above, help me. I have never felt such anger in my life as I do toward the Bush Reicht, and I resent feeling this way. I'm drained, Dieties help us all.

*edited to add Information on EVERY American troop that has died in the mideast since May 1, 2003 contrary to Bush's lies.

21. How about all the ones wounded in action? Does * mourn for them?
Almost a thousand of them coming home without arms and legs or blinded. These kids will have to try to make do for the rest of their life with less and less help from the VA. Bush and his cutting of VA benefits and funding just sucks.

Does "solider" evoke too much of an image of a human being?

8. Only 56 of them?
what about the rest of them Georgie?

I can't wait to see what the new privatization of everything will do to Iraq. If any of the the world the World Bank has touched has been any example, there will be massive riots and a huge amount of hatred--more than before.

"Bring 'em on!"

10. What would the chimp know about suffering and loss?
The only thing he ever lost was his virginity; and the arrogant smirk permanently planted on his puss screams out "I've skated through life unscathed." Heartless, clueless bastard.

12. Then what did he do?
He went in to his pig farm ranch house and had a pretzel and a beer with his buddy Dick Chenney. Then they both went out driving---throwing empty beer bottles at highway signs!

17. Didn't look like mourning to me.
At his press conference, Bush was specifically asked about the deaths, including the one the evening before. Bush took a long pause, obviously looking like he wished the question hadn't been asked. Then he said a few words about the U.S. dead.

Simply put, he said something because he was forced to say something. Otherwise, you don't hear anything from him on the subject. He probably wishes (like many of the "new-style, don't-give-a-damn-about-anything Republicans") that troop deaths would just stop being reported and asked about.

26. This number is very narrowly interpreted. Total deaths = 120+
This is only what they call "combat deaths." They clearly do not include friendly fire deaths, and anything they can attribute to an "accident" or an "unexplained incident."

They want to keep this number as low as possible, because this is the one they want to point to. But it's bullshit. It's as if most of the other deaths wouldn't have occurred if they weren't in Iraq.
