Senate majority leader campaigns against Sen. Barbara Boxer

By SETH HETTENA, Associated Press Writer
Last Updated: May 25, 2004, 03:00:22 PM PDT

SAN DIEGO (AP) - Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist campaigned Tuesday for the defeat of Democratic Sen. Barbara Boxer, dangling the possibility of more federal dollars for California if it sends a Republican to the Senate.

Electing former Secretary of State Bill Jones would end "the obstruction that I see everyday on the floor of the U.S. Senate," Frist said, without mentioning Boxer's name.

A Republican like Jones can "come to the table" in Washington and work with both President Bush and the Senate Appropriations Committee chairman, "who decides ultimately how much money comes to California," the majority leader said.

"Right now, California does not have anybody at the table," Frist said.

2. Frist is Speaking Out More Freely (I.e like a freak).

The only reason there is no one from CA at the table is because Bush (the uniter) has decided the table is only for republicans.

3. RESPONSE should be
Jones would be a rubber stamp for the Bush administration, attacking your rights and running up the deficit. Elect Boxer and Kerry together we will help California.

4. Good luck
I don't particularly care for Boxer or Feinstein but I'd rather have them in the Senate than any Republican.

I actually think it will be a landslide for Boxer.

9. She voted against IWR - and very progressive in general
Apparently, Frist's efforts against Djaschle raised his poll numbers - I expect it to work in Cali as well.

13. Too bad for Frist that Bush won't be there to work with after the election
He better start worrying about how he is going to work as the senate minority leader under President Kerry.

.. t-shirts featuring any kind of the CUTEST KITTENS you can find. Every time.. a sea of cute little kitten faces.. The kitten killer will find it hard to go to any public even without the innocent faces of the kittens he slaughtered for his personal hobby. Meow Frist!!

23. Media starting to rip on Frist
There was a segment on TV the other night saying that Frist has crossed over the line when he campaigned for Daschle's opponent. I forget what show it was on, maybe Keith Olbermann. They were not too complimentary. They talked about how there had always been a "gentlemen's agreement" about this sort of thing and how members of Congress used to disagree, but that they were still friends.

Way to go, Bill "Undead" Frist.
