Senior Iraqi politician assassinated in Kirkuk
KIRKUK - A senior politician representing Iraqs minority Turkmen population was assassinated by gunmen late on Monday as he left his office in the tense Iraqi city of Kirkuk, police said.

Ahmed Najm al-Din, one of the leaders of the Turkmen Union Party, was shot dead in a targeted drive-by shooting as he was leaving his partys headquarters after dark, police said.

A group of armed men armed with AK-47s shot him as he was leaving work. It was a terrorist operation, not a criminal attack, Kirkuk Police Colonel Ahmed Slamerz told Reuters.

3. How can it be a terrorist operation,
and not a criminal attack?

I know, he means it was not just a regular criminal, but a "terrorist" criminal. How does he know that? Do terrorists carry around calling cards that say "Terrorist" and do they leave them at the scene?

4. If I'm confused about who "the enemy" is...
imagine how confused BushCo supporters must be!

No wonder they're buying the Saddam=9/11 crap: it's easy to repeat when they're asked why they support pResident Freak Monkey.
