U.S. Department of State

"Lethal research on whales is not necessary," Department of State says

"The United States deeply regrets and strongly opposes the government of Iceland's announcement on August 6, 2003 of its intention to begin research whaling," the Department of State announced in a media note August 7.

1. Where is the sonar statement?
I especially like this.....The United States is also concerned that Iceland has not published the results from its 1986 to 1989 research whaling program.

I guess they just need more time to "digest" the data.

2. Sad, but I'm astounded, really that this administration
is using such strong language in opposition to this.

Who knew the Bush admin. gave a crap about anything not related to war?

"Digest", for real.

3. Ahhh, those mushy liberals weill soon be OUT
Under the Heydrich, err, Wolfowitz State Department.

Is it just me or does no one find it ironic that two of the prime motivators of the Hitler Redux (Part II -- A Kinder and Gentler Totalitarianism For the New Rome) are Jewish?

PS I am Jewish, in case anyone wants to flame me as an anti-Semite.
