Gore Friends: Speech Not Setting the Stage for Run

Washington - Former Vice President Al Gore has triggered a new round of speculation about his political intentions by scheduling a "major policy speech" for today at New York University to attack the Bush administration on Iraq, the economy and the environment.

Yesterday, former Gov. Mario Cuomo publicly urged Gore to become a contender for next year's Democratic presidential nomination. "Right now the Democratic voice is not a single voice, it is not a chorus, it is a babble," Cuomo said in an interview on WROW-AM in Albany. "You need a single voice. Gore could be that with a single plan."

Gore, who won the popular vote but lost the electoral vote and the presidency to George W. Bush in 2000, is not reconsidering his December decision to stay out of the 2004 race, according to Michael Feldman, a former Gore adviser speaking on his behalf.

"He said in December when he gave his interview about the race that he would not be a candidate for president in 2004 but that he would continue to speak out on the issues from time to time," Feldman said. "That's exactly what this is. He will not be a candidate for president in 2004, but it's a speech he wants to give to speak out on some issues he cares about."

3. By trying to add another candidate to the list

does not promote a united voice....It just adds to the dilution of the party right now. We can participate in the traditional form of democracy, take time picking our final candidate.....or we can wake up and see a repugs are a huge, huge Tsunami tidal wave ready to crush the democrats.

We best huddle up and pull our resources together to try and defeat the regime. The sooner the better.

Lets narrow our selection base real soon. They have us in their cross-hares. They will do everything to stay in charge. Remember 2000 and see whats happening in Texas and now California.

With California, Arnold said he won't pander to special interest groups.....Well, how does the think the recall occurred? Bought and Paid for by the repugs!!!!! Dah!!!!
