Bush says he answered every question from Sept 11 panel
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/afp/us_attacks_bush

WASHINGTON (AFP) - US President George W. Bush (news - web sites) said that he and Vice President Dick Cheney (news - web sites) answered every question put to them by the panel investigating the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.

In a brief appearance in the White House Rose Garden, hastily announced after the three hour and ten minute session Bush suggested that the panel members were already looking to the report they are to issue in late July.

"There was a lot of interest about how to better protect America. In other words, they're very interested in the recommendations that they're going to lay out," he told reporters.

Asked for the reasons behind his unprecedented insistence on Cheney's presence, Bush replied: "I think it was important for them to see our body language as well, how we work together."

The president ducked a question on whether he owed it to the families of the roughly 3,000 victims of the attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon (news - web sites) to record the session or provide a transcript.

1. Imbecile.
"I think it was important for them to see our body language as well, how we work together."

Yes, Georgie, I'm sure the panel is awfully interested in your fucking body language and how you 'work together'. I'm sure it was the fucking highlight of their day.

5. Will we start to hear the "body language" excuse?
Um, I gotta be interrogated with my buddy about that bank job we didn't do. My mouthpiece says we got a constitutional right to show youse guys our body language.

7. I smell a focus group result here: "body language"
Woodward in one of his interviews mentioned how much W notices people's body language and that that is as important to him as what they are saying. I think they focus grouped this and the results came back that W is so intuitive so streetwise and such.

Just a guess but for him to answer a question like that, that he knew he was going to get smacks of preperation and Rove leaves NOTHING to chance.

21. Maybe so.
OTOH, and more likely, IMO, during their 'coaching' sessions, Shrub was squirming like a stuck pig when he was answering the questions, and his handlers kept telling him he had to watch his body language cause his body language was saying "I lying." He was so conscious of maintaining good body language that he was mighty proud he pulled it off and had to brag to the press.

... how you work together.

W, I don't think they give a rat's ASS how you two work together! How nice of you to oblige them anyway.

What a piss-poor excuse for not appearing alone!

Yeah, I assume he meant "all questions put to him" but it sounded like the VP answered them ALL...instead of the Prez. :D

11. What so they don't have to stay past 5PM?
What does W do anyway? They always mentioned that he receives the daily briefing (What President hasn't?) and then they try to fill the time with this and that and then he goes to a fund raiser. What else is there?

When have a minute check out this onion article "by" Condi Rice on how preventing 9/11 would have cost millions in overtime and at the time just wasn't cost effective. I know it is the Onion but it hits the nail on its head.

This little incident they're talking about was merely the biggest attack on the country since the Civil War. What else have they got to do with their time?

Oh, yeah, raise campaign funds!

30. His definition of 'answer' and the world's definition
of 'answer' are two totally different things. Stammering through an incomplete sentence about 'terra', ending with 'they hate us for our freedoms', complete with 25 'uhs' and 54 'ums' is NOT an answer.

Ducking questions is not 'answering', you asshole chimp.

34. "I asked every question that they asked."
So maybe his definition of "answer" is "ask". Or maybe he meant to say "answer". Otherwise it would be like an echo chamber if he really meant "I asked every question that they asked." Bush seemed befuddled.

Hopefully this ridiculous charade will convince at least a FEW more fence-sitters that this guy is in WAY over his head, is dangerous in this job, is scamming us ALL, and wouldn't tell the truth even if his mother was smacking him with a wooden spoon.

Didn't want Homeland Security Dep't.
Didn't want 9/11 panel.
Didn't want Chevron Condi to appear.
Didn't want himself to appear.
Didn't want to appear before the full panel.
Asked for a time limit.
No transcript.
No recording.

Body language???
"If we had something to hide we wouldn't have met with them..." ???

Is there ANY rational person out there who would think this behavior is not trying to hide something?

edited to ask: why can I not see my typos until I have already posted?

35. Here is a disgusting example of what went on today
as I posted earlier in GD

snip...
One commissioner, Jim Thompson, said the questions included everything "across the board" that had been in public hearings. "The president was asked the vast majority of the questions and he answered them. There was no questions the president or vice president did not answer."

"There was some laughter from time to time. The president is a bit of a tease," Thompson said in a telephone interview with The Associated Press. "There were no tense moments. I thought the president gave a five-star performance. I wish the American people could have seen it."
