Appeals court says no to closed hearing in Scott Walker campaign probe

In a sign the secret investigation related to the campaign of Gov. Scott Walker is still alive, a state appeals court panel Friday refused to order the judge overseeing the probe to hold a secret hearing for a witness seeking immunity from prosecution.

The unnamed person asked the appeals court to order Reserve Judge Neal Nettesheim to close the hearing into whether that person should be granted immunity in the confidential John Doe investigation.

But the three-judge panel ruled that Nettesheim, who is overseeing the inquiry, must hold the hearing in open court.

John Doe investigations are secret proceedings in which witnesses can be compelled to testify about possible criminal matters.

My my my, things are getting more and more interesting. How high up could this witness be that they asked to remain confidential?
