U.S. Warns Lebanon to Stop Hamas Support
WASHINGTON -- The United States has quietly warned Lebanon to end its support for Hamas.

U.S. officials said the State Department relayed what they termed a tough message to the Lebanese government that demanded restrictions on the movement of Hamas leaders. They said the department has been alarmed by the frequent meetings between Hamas and Hizbullah leaders in Beirut to coordinate strategy against Israel and the United States.

The most worrisome aspect of Lebanon's policy has been the freedom granted to Hamas leader Khaled Masha'al, the officials said. They said Masha'al has been shuttling between Beirut and Damascus in what appeared to be heightened cooperation with Hizbullah wake of the Israeli assassination of Hamas leaders Ahmed Yassin and Abdul Aziz Rantisi.

"The level of cooperation by Hamas and Hizbullah has been significant and appears to go beyond the Israeli-Palestinian arena," an official said. "There are more than passing indications that the two groups are cooperating against us in Iraq."

1. Oh yes. Lets invade Lebanon again. That worked out real well last time.
How many Marines did Reagan get blown up there before he cut and ran again?

beirut ,now the usa will invade and destroy the "paris" of the middle east? i`m not sure why they just carpet bomb the middle east and get it over with..just level beirut and damascus, no one will do anything and bush`s polling numbers will go way up! nothing like a destruction of a few cities to raise some more cash and votes..and sharon will love it
