Bush Challenges Kerry on the Environment
NAPLES, Fla., April 23 -- President Bush seized Friday on a remark Sen. John F. Kerry made this week about coastal drilling and suggested that the presumed Democratic presidential nominee had botched a sensitive issue in this crucial state.

Bush's decision to attack the Massachusetts senator on the environment, considered a strong issue for the Democrat, reflected a campaign strategy aimed at searing Kerry as a waffler on just about any issue.

<snip>

That was a reference to an ongoing battle between the campaigns over what Kerry meant when he said Tuesday in Tampa during a discussion of offshore drilling: "Do I support oil drilling? The answer is yes. I support oil drilling in the right places."

Nevertheless, the Bush-Cheney campaign jumped on the incomplete statement, and Bush's brother Jeb Bush (R), the governor of Florida, kicked off a storm by telling reporters that the comment meant Kerry favored drilling off that state. A news report about the controversy in the St. Petersburg Times referred to Kerry's "knack for ambiguity," and the president's campaign sent around a Teamsters newspaper ad from 2002 charging that Kerry backed oil drilling off Florida.

6. Black is white. Night is day.
And Bush is the better candidate for the environment. Gimme a freakin' break, people. Are people really SO blind?!?! Look at Kerry's environmental history and plans, they are SO many levels above and beyond Bush's, including having knowledge about what he speaks. GAH!

7. This shows how completely desparate they are.
Bush is looking for traction to break away from Kerry in the polls and he is coming up empty at every fucking juncture.
I mean.... the environment? ...... BWAAAH HA HA HA HA!

8. Just another example...
..of how stupid they think voters are. Oh, wait...
How many think Iraq had WMDs?
How many think our young soldiers are fighting for "freedom"?
How many think Bush was "elected" ?
How many think Bush is an "honest...straight-shooter"?
How many think the media is "liberal"?
...never mind

Dukakus in 88. Remember those Boston Harbor Ads. Kerry's got to put out some scull and bone Mercury and lead poisoning ads and soon.

15. Honestly, this may be the stupidest thing they have come up with.
One of the biggest reasons I have no problem voting for Kerry is his exceptional record on the environment. Actually I agree with ALMOST all of his senate votes, but even the most liberal green around has to respect Kerry's environmental record.

What the hell are they smoking in the big white house? They must all be hitting the bottle pretty hard if they think that this is not going to blow up in their faces.

Oh well, all the better for us.
