4. 'Iran CIA Agent Arrests Linked To Missile Testing'
Source: Jerusalem Post

Iran's claim to arresting 12 CIA agents in its territory is linked to clandestine efforts by Tehran to disperse missiles around the country, a senior Iran analyst in the US told The Jerusalem Post on Thursday.

Professor Raymond Tanter, adjunct scholar at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy, and founder of the Washington-based Iran Policy Committee, said the Iranians were moving and testing missiles "that would form the first response" to an Israeli strike on Iran's nuclear sites.

'CIA spies caught in Iran, Lebanon, feared dead'

"The rollup of alleged western spies in Iran involves the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC)," Tanter said, adding that this was an organization which "operates all of Iran’s Scud missiles and provides the military leadership for Iranian missile production."

"Events in Iran concern surreptitious testing and movement of missiles at an IRGC facility during mid-November to harden and hide them from surprise attack," he added.

5. Also Read: Iran Developing Advanced Missile Defense System
Iran could be getting outside help in developing its own missile defense system, a preeminent Israeli missile expert told The Jerusalem Post on Tuesday.

Uzi Rubin, an architect of Israel’s missile defense program, was responding to Iranian reports boasting of a new domestic missile defense system named “Bavar 373,” which Tehran claimed was “a substitution for S-300 (Russian) missile system.”

“Making the missile is the simple part. The problem is creating complex radars and other components. The effectiveness of the system depends on the radars. The Iranians have some skills in this, but years of experience are needed. It’s difficult to believe this can be done in one generation,” Rubin said.

However, “there are indications they are not working alone,” Rubin added, saying that North Korean weapons engineers may be providing assistance.

6. I guess the US won't object if Iran uses waterboarding on them.
If, in order to get them to spill the beans. Iran subjects the suspects to waterboarding, the US government I am sure will have no objection. After all, it's not like the Iranians would be engaging in torture. :sarcasm:

7. Ballistic missiles not very effective
Edited on Thu Nov-24-11 07:56 PM by soryang
This is the focus of the article, that Iranian ballistic missiles are an effective counterstrike force and could saturate the air defense systems of the states involved in any attack on Iran. I'm afraid that this is wishful thinking. Conventionally armed ballistic missiles will do little to defend Iran, they will simply impose non decisive costs on the involved states. Those costs should they involve damage to any vital infrastructure will gladly be received by the usual suspects, the US multinational contractors who will benefit financially from such a conflict. What happens to anyone else is of little concern to them.

8. CIA AGENTS
I have a gut feeling that if Israel/US ever attacks Iran,it will be something they live to regret.

Seems to me like the both have been getting away with a lot of things for decades without really feeling any pain, but there are some truth that seem not to bother those drunk on arrogance, and those truths are the saying that "Long Run,short Catch,Every Dog Has Its Day,There Is A Time For Everything, and Nothing last Forever.and the only thing in this world that 200% certain.
Is death,

We were certain Iraq had WMD so we attacked them,we are certain Iran is building WMDs,and 100% certain they dont want it for energy,so we want to go to war on Iran and attack them,we are certain that we and Israel can take Iran out with Bunker Buster without feeling any pain, and we are certain that we are always 100% right, correct, and just,in everything we do and say.
Thats arrogance running amok
