Occupy Protests Grow, Despite Clashes With Police, Cold Weather

Occupy Wall Street protesters will face their first weather test in New York today, as forecasts call for snow on the coldest day since the protests began last month.

The Fire Department of New York on Friday removed six gas-powered generators from Zuccotti Park and 13 cans of gasoline, which Mayor Michael Bloomberg called illegal safety hazards.

Carrying signs reading things like "End Corporate Welfare" and "Corporate Greed is Economic Terrorism," Occupy Wall Street protesters in New York City marched to some major banks, including Citi Group and Bank of America. They carried stacks of paper that they folded into paper airplane to throw at the bank buildings.

3. Of course it never once occurs to ABC (wholly-owned subsidiary

of Disney, btw) to ask whether that removal of generators and fuel was legit. No, if the Fire Department does it, it must be 'legal' right? Now that NYPD have fallen off their pedestal of post-911 public regard, about the only institution that retains any public regard is the Fire Department. If it turns out that the generators and fuel were not illegal, I'd say the NYFD will also see itself irretrievably tarnished in the eyes of the public.

Interesting that it happened as the coldest weather of the season so far threatens to hit NY is all I'm sayin'.

4. Folding Paper Airplanes

How about a ticket for Littering? Whomever came up with that idea is likely a provocateur. Protesters need to think through the legal ramifications of their actions. The authorities will use any pretense to harass them.

5. You are not aware of the delivery system

They throw the paper airplanes. They gather up the thrown airplanes into garbage bags and deposit those bags at the front door of the bank.

They are not littering. The action is a creative way to deliver a message.
