GOV. BROWN TO STATE LAWMAKERS: THANKS FOR MOUNTAIN LION TAXIDERMY BILL, NOW PLEASE PASS CLEAN ENERGY JOBS LEGISLATION | Today, Gov. Jerry Brown (D-CA) signed a bill to allow mountain lions to be stuffed and displayed. Lawmakers from both sides of the aisle, perhaps in a celebration of this recent viral video hit, overwhelmingly supported the measure. Brown thanked the legislature for this “presumably important bill,” but asked the state Senate extend the same “energetic bipartisan spirit” to passing clean energy jobs legislation. View a copy of the statement from the governor’s office below:

10. Probably because it is somehow related to firearms and the NRA is a strong lobby.

Most mountain lions that are stuffed were shot at some point, as opposed to stabbed or poisoned or dying of natural causes.

It's a trophy for shooting.

Shooting requires firesrms. Therefore all things related to shooting are sacred.

3. Great reply by Jerry!
I just cracked up.

People need to know their "representatives" are proud of grand legislation like this...while they can't find jobs, struggle to stay in their home, can't afford college, etc.

14. This is great -- hopefully carried by every so-called "newspaper" in the state.
People need to know what their leaders are spending time on. (Besides taking time off every 72 hours for a break in the action.)
