Italy Asks China to Buy Its Bonds-Report

NEW YORK/BEIJING (Reuters) - Italy has asked China to buy Italian debt as the euro zone's third-largest economy struggles to convince markets it can manage its debt load, media reports said.

The news boosted stocks and the euro on the prospects of a cash injection for a country that is regarded as too big to fail and too big to bail out amid a deepening debt crisis in the euro zone.

1. Seems as though China already has more bond issues than it needs.

2. "too big to fail and too big to bail out" gives rise to a couple of questions.
First of all, if something is "too big to bail out", does that alone not set the stage for failure if financial rescue is ever needed?
2nd, is there ANYTHING is truly "too big to fail"?

for China to buy Italy. Greece as well.
