Private investigator passes names on to Steve Coogan's lawyers, in accordance with court order

Private investigator Glenn Mulcaire has revealed the names of the News of the World staff who instructed him to carry out phone hacking, his solicitor has confirmed.

The information was passed in a letter to Steve Coogan's lawyers in accordance with a court order.

Mulcaire had applied for permission to appeal against the order, which was made in February, but this was denied and he was compelled to pass over the details by Friday.

His solicitor, Sarah Webb, from Payne Hicks Beach, said she could not reveal who the NoW employees were because of "confidentiality issues".

News Corp. Still Paying Ex-David Cameron Aide Andy Coulson (Report)

News International, News Corp.'s British publishing division, is still paying the legal fees of a one-time aide to British Prime Minister David Cameron, according to a Financial Times report.

This is the second report this week related to payments to Coulson, a former editor-in-chief of the now-shuttered News of the World. A story by Bloomberg on Monday indicated that News International, which oversaw the scandal-plagued tabloid, was still paying Coulson while he worked as the UK Conservative Party's director of communications as part of a severance package.

This latest story takes those allegations one step further, suggesting that News International is making payments to Coulson's London law firm DLA Piper as part of some arrangement.

This raises the questions of whether Coulson was on the company's payroll while he was working as Cameron's director of communications, a post he resigned from because of intense speculation about his role in phone hacking.
