"There’s no question - what we want to do is throw the bum out," says Roger Salazar, the former spokesman for North Carolina Sen. John Edwards, who battled with Kerry for the Democratic presidential nomination and is now the subject of vice-presidential buzz. "We’re going to make sure we do everything we can to make that happen."

Fueled by a belief that American voters are now having doubts about Bush’s leadership on the war, the economy and the international scene, Democratic insiders say Kerry’s message for change can gain real momentum among the moderates and undecided voters who will determine the election.
