(Wisconsin) Democrats won't run 'placeholder' recall candidates
Source: Milwaukee Journal Sentinel

Democrats say they're abandoning their strategy to run "placeholder" candidates in July 12 recall primary races after "fake" Democrats, recruited by the Republican Party, had filed their final paperwork in all six races by Friday.

The filings assure that there will likely be Democratic primaries in all six recall races involving Republican Senate incumbents.

... Friday was the deadline for candidates to file financial disclosure forms in the recall elections. If any candidate failed to file such a form, they wouldn't be on the July 12 primary ballot. Democrats had recruited placeholder candidates in three of those races in case the fake Democrats failed to file.

But that didn't happen.

1. This is good news, right? The Repukes couldn't get the necessary signatures for the fake Dems!
Am I reading this correctly?

All the fake Democrats filed, so the real Democrats had no need to file their own fakes.

7. I hope that'll be good enough. If the Democrats have to expend more resources fighting
these primary "fake" challenges, that concerns me.

8. See my post below. Thankfully OFA is dedicating resources for these recalls, too.
Anyone who wants to and is able to help, please donate to the candidates via their sites linked here: http://www.wisdems.org/candidates or though Act Blue here: https://secure.actblue.com/contribute/page/rollback

4. This was discussed at our county membership meeting last night.
The state party was there and OFA were there. We are treating the primaries and generals for the recall as 2 separate elections that require our full resources. OFA has dedicated ALL local (and some national) resources to helping with these recalls.

So many on DU can't understand how Republicans could still succeed here, but it's simple- they vote. Walker's approval rating is EIGHTY-SEVEN PERCENT with Republicans and NINE PERCENT with Democrats. The GOP wins national awards here for voter turnout.

We need to get our asses in gear and get out the vote like never before. I encourage everyone who is able to help these fine candidates: http://www.wisdems.org/candidates

And keep helping.
