BP hits Halliburton in latest oil spill claim
Source: Reuters

LONDON (Reuters) - BP Plc has filed a lawsuit against Halliburton, the company that cemented the blown-out well which caused the Gulf of Mexico oil spill, a day after claiming $40 billion from rig owner Transocean.

BP said Halliburton concealed critical information which could have prevented the disaster.

BP did not give a figure for how much money it was seeking from Halliburton but asked for damages of up to the total cost of the spill, which BP has put at $42 billion, plus interest, legal costs and punitive damages.

"Halliburton's improper conduct, errors and omissions, including fraud and concealment, caused and/or contributed to the Deepwater Horizon incident," BP said in a court filing.

Its like watching evolution in action (but don't say that to the 'Vangies, they think there is no connection tween Rand and Darwin...)

3. Also - Gulf of Mexico oil spill: BP sues Transocean for $40bn
BP is suing Transocean, the owner of the oil rig that exploded in the Gulf of Mexico last year, for $40bn (£24.37bn) in damages.

BP said safety systems on Transocean's Deepwater Horizon rig had failed.

Separately, BP also sued the maker of the rig's blowout preventer, alleging the device failed to stop the huge oil spill that followed the explosion.

5. So, it's a game of watching a group of wrongdoers vs. another group of wrongdoers.
I might as well watch documentaries about Hitler v. Stalin.

6. No problem!
They'll haggle, then settle (with neither claiming liability), then the Pentagram will issue Halliburton another no-bid contract to cover the cost of the suit.

See how that works?

9. All the information Halliburton uses is transmitted over a common channel.
Why didn't the BP engineer pick it up?

Strange that all that info "disappeared" with the rig.
