GARLAND, Tex. -- Former KU football star Aquib Talib is a person of interest in an incident in Garland, Texas, and could be charged with anything from a Class A misdemeanor to a second-degree felony, police say.
Talib, 25, allegedly attempted to hit his sister’s boyfriend, Shannon Billings, in the face with a handgun. Then, after a struggle, Talib fired several shots at Billings while he ran from the scene, said Garland police.
Police said pending an investigation, Talib could be charged with anything from discharging a firearm within a municipality to aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
According to the police report, the incident happened after Talib’s sister and Billings had been arguing. Neighbors called 911 to report a domestic dispute after the three shots had been fired.
