Ambassador Bridge owners hire Dick Morris, who wishes Rick Snyder would 'act like a Republican'

They've tried lawsuits, floating bridges and unapproved construction. But owners of the Ambassador Bridge on Tuesday unleashed a not-so-secret weapon in their campaign against the New International Trade Crossing: Dick Morris.

Morris, currently working as a Fox News analyst and for-hire political consultant, appeared Tuesday morning on WJR-AM 760, where he criticized Gov. Rick Snyder's proposal that Michigan enter a public-private partnership with Canada to build a new bridge connecting Detroit and Windsor.

He also disclosed he's being paid by the owners of the Ambassador Bridge, who have proposed twinning their crossing in lieu of facing competition from a publicly-owned bridge.

Hiring a well-known politico to back your bridge position is nothing new (see: former Gov. James Blanchard), but Morris didn't exactly do the Moroun family any favors. . .
