3:40 PM --Governor (R-In) says time to dump labor bill
Source: Indy Star

Written by Mary Beth Schneider

Gov. Mitch Daniels signaled this afternoon that Republicans should to drop the right-to-work bill that has brought the Indiana House to a standstill for two days and imperiled other measures.

Daniels told reporters this afternoon that he expects House Democrats will return to work if the bill dies. It would be unfortunate if other bills are caught up in the turmoil, he said.

He will not send out state police to corral the Democrats, the Republican governor said.

1. Watch out for those other "imperiled" measures.
They could really bite.

6. Daniels has never supported RTW legislation, and advised against it last fall.
If you separate out the pugs who can never be dealt with, and the minority who perhaps can, Daniels is part of that minority. His recent "truce" speech to fellow pugs is one of the few attempts to over-ride wingnut partisanship I know of.

7. He cannot be reasoned with about education
Unfortunately, that is part of his agenda that he is anxious to get to. Education "reform" laws that pave the way for grave changes in public education.
