Pawlenty dismisses 'birthers'
Source: The Hill

Former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty (R) explicitly distanced himself from "birthers" during a highly anticipated speech before conservatives on Friday.

After one lawmaker made a "birther" joke, alluding to suspicions that President Obama wasn't born in the United States, Pawlenty, at the top of his address to the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) made clear that he doesn't question Obama's birthplace.

"I’m not one who questions the existence of the president’s birth certificate," Pawlenty said.

The former Minnesota governor and possible 2012 Republican presidential candidate used that line as a set-up, though, to a larger jab at Obama.

3. YEP. Bridge collapsed, people dead & $6.2 billion (yes, with a "b") deficit
That is what Tim Pawlenty left Minnesota: disaster on multiple levels.

He spent the majority of his last 4 year term getting a nice paycheck while campaigning around the country, first for his desire to be McCain's VP and then for his own Presidential aspirations (he continues to poll in the low single digits).

8. Time to resurrect the Mary Pawlenty appendicitis thread
This was originally posted in the Minnesota Forum by Woo Me With Science June 19, 2007. As long as Timmy thinks he could be president (or vice-president) it should be kept alive.

Mary Pawlenty Exposes Tim's Total Lack of Empathy on Radio. Ha ha ha ha ha!!!!
Caught a creepy segment on the FM 107 morning show (Ian and Margery--A Balanced Breakfast). Mary Pawlenty has been guest hosting with Ian.

Yesterday Mary Pawlenty told a long anecdote about when she got appendicitis and Tim Pawlenty was an insensitive lout. It was supposed to be a rib-slapping funny commentary about silly husbands but instead came off as creepy and disturbing. It was a long story, starting out when she doubled over in pain at home when appendicitis struck. Everyone laughed as she described how she was curled on the bedroom floor in a fetal position begging to be taken to the emergency room, but that rascal Tim Pawlenty told her to wait until morning to go to the regular clinic instead.

After she kept moaning and begging, and the pain got more and more excruciating, he finally agreed, reluctantly, to take her to the hospital. Despite her protestations, he decided he wanted to take a shower first. Ha ha ha!!! She described lying on the floor afraid she was dying, and begging her children to bang on the shower door to ask their father to call 911. She said he was unmoved (Ha ha ha! Those crazy Republican husbands!) and took a nice, long shower before leisurely driving her to the hospital.

Once at the hospital, he decided he really didn't feel like hanging around in the ER waiting room. While she was moaning in agony and waiting for the doctor, he told her he was leaving and put his car keys into her shoe so that she could drive herself home later! What a card! What a funny husband he is!

Then you should have heard the guffaws as she described being wheeled into surgery, alone and in despair, thinking, "I thought I had a family, but I have NO ONE!" Ha ha ha ha ha!!!!!!! Then, after the surgery, Tim finally showed up in the post-op room in his suit. However, he immediately asked her if she really needed him to stay, and he left as soon as he could. Ha ha ha ha ha!!!!! You know how MEN are!!!! Ha!

The story went on and on like this for about 10 minutes, and everyone was howling at that rascal husband Tim Pawlenty, who has no empathy.

Today (surprise, surprise) they had Tim Pawlenty on to do damage control. The lovebirds traded affectionate barbs, and he told HIS side of the story, which was that he had to leave quickly to take care of the children and make sure they made it to school.

What makes the little weasel dangerous is that he can fool so many people into thinking he's a "nice, reasonable" guy. When he's nothing buy a sociopath who would let his wife die of burst appendix if he had something else to do.

9. America, Minnesota apologizes... Sorry you have to see our village idiots
http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-503544_162-20031584-503544.html

WASHINGTON -- Former Minnesota governor and likely GOP presidential candidate said in a speech at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) Friday that America needs to "turn towards God, not away from him."

In hard times, he said, it is particularly important to remember "the motto of our country: in God we trust."

11. Mitt also dismissed "birthers", but says Obama is European (which may be just as bad in his eyes).
Romney sneaked in a reference to health care in a larger critique of Mr. Obama’s “European-style” rule. But that was it for the speech.

“With our economy in crisis, the president and his fellow liberals turned to Europe for their answers,” Romney said. “Like the Europeans, they grew government, they racked up bigger deficits, they took over health care, they pushed cap and trade, they stalled production of our oil and gas and coal, they fought to impose unions on all America’s workers, and they created over a hundred new agencies and commissions and hundreds of thousands of pages of new regulations.”

“The president went from 'Change you can believe in' to 'Can you believe this change?' ” Romney said of Obama’s recent State of the Union address. “He sounded like he was going to dig up the first lady’s organic garden to put in a Bob’s Big Boy.”

There was also a lot of talk of American exceptionalism and greatness. “I refuse to believe that America is just another place on the map with a flag,” Romney said. “I believe that America is an exceptional nation, of freedom and opportunity and hope. We are an exceptional land.
