Senators Blast U.N. on Iraq Oil-For-Food
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Corruption in a U.N. humanitarian program for Iraq casts doubt on the United Nations' ability to manage international initiatives, including helping Iraq become a sovereign government, the top U.S. senator on foreign affairs said on Wednesday.

Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman Richard Lugar blasted the United Nations for allowing the ousted regime of Saddam Hussein to skim billions of dollars from a U.N. program that let Iraq sell oil to buy food, medicine and other goods for its people.

Corruption in the program "almost certainly contributed to the international division over containing and ultimately ousting Saddam Hussein," Lugar said. Russia, France and China opposed the U.S.-led invasion. Continued ...

Trading with the enemy and avoiding the US embargo by selling to Iraq through Halliburton subsidiaries in Europe, while booking $24MM profit?

are involved in this. Bush is resisting releasing that info.
