America's popularity poll shows Venezuela's Hugo Chavez Frias at +56%

Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez Frias' popularity is as high as 56% according to a popularity poll run across the Americas by Mexican Consulta Mitofsky which reports Chavez Frias being well ahead of Presidential counterparts in Mexico, El Salvador, USA, Brasil, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Panama and bottom-listed Peru where President Alejandro Toledo has only 8% acceptance.

Chavez Frias comes in at a 7th placing among 17 Heads of State; he's been in power the longest with 57 months of his mandate already gone, closely followed by El Salvador's President in 9th place in the listings.

Consulta Mitofsky collaborated with national opinion poll companies across the Americas to produce the figures, including Rouvier & Asociados (Argentina), Universidad San Francisco de Asis (Bolivia), Instituto Sensus (Brazil), Ipsos-Reid/Globe and Mail/CTV (Canada), Centro de Estudios Publicos-CEP (Chile), Revista Cambio (Colombia), Unimer (Costa Rica), Informe Confidencial (Ecuador), Cid-Gallup (El Salvador), Gallup Poll New Service (USA), Felipe Noguera Consultores/GSI (Guatemala), Associated Press (Honduras), Cid Gallup (Nicaragua/Panama) and Datum Internacional in Peru.

5. Why don't you point us to a source for your information
concerning "Americans are ready to support socialists so Kerry should go for it!"

Do you have results to a scientific poll on the subject?

What do you know you can share about Chavez' political beliefs?
