Senators See Chance For Passing 9 / 11 Health Bill.

A retooled bill providing medical care for firefighters and other emergency responders to the September 11, 2001 attacks could be resurrected soon in the Senate, a few weeks after Republicans blocked the measure, backers said on Sunday.

"We believe we are on a path to victory by the end of this week," said Senator Charles Schumer. But he was quick to add that unexpected obstacles could arise.

8. I know of a Salvation Army Captain who died earlier this year that was there - he was 46.
He died of a combination of lung and heart problems that came about because he was at the 9/11 site everyday for almost a year. He was asked to come down by the Captain of one of the NYFD's because the men really liked to talk with him. I told his family to try and see if they could get some compensation for his death if this bill passed. He left children who were under 18. I hope they have contacted their Congressman. There are so many like this man who by no fault of their own were victims also. There were more then 3,100 who lost their lives over this tragedy.

12. Let it be known FAR and WIDE that the Republicans would MUCH rather be home...
They cannot possibly be worked any further on issues pertaining to the welfare of 9/11 first responders NINE YEARS LATER for it would be an insult to the holiest of the Christian calandar holidays...

What obstacles, Mr. Schumer...do not cover for these criminals and thieves! Exactly who and what is keeping these scumbags from passing comprehensive coverage for these Americans???

You know damn well they would have never done anything if the had not been shamed into it.

When I saw Fox talking about it I knew there had been a meme to do an about face. Friggin hypocrites and "christians"...

16. Details of how it will be paid for
Instead of costing $7.4 billion, Gillibrand and Schumer said the measure's price tag would be reduced to $6.2 billion.

Their revised legislation would impose a new 2 percent fee on goods and services from firms in foreign countries that are not members of the Agreement on Government Procurement. Gillibrand said Saudi Arabia would be one of the countries in that category.

Other ways the $6.2 billion cost of the health bill would be covered were by continuing a fee on travelers to the United States that is set to expire in 2015 and continuing another fee for outsourcing companies that have more than half of their employees on visas to work in the United States.
