Democratic Party Slams Recall Effort

OMAHA, Neb. -- A group attempting a recall of Mayor Jim Suttle is "mocking and undermining" the true purpose of the recall process, according to a statement issued by the Nebraska Democratic Party.

The recall group held a news conference at 10 a.m. in downtown Omaha, saying their efforts to remove Suttle from power will continue.

The group accused the mayor of being "tone deaf" during town hall meetings and unwilling to look for alternatives to raising taxes in a tough economic time.
