Issa Pushes Anti-Obama Message on (Oversight Committee) Panel’s Site
Source: Roll Call

In theory, Members of Congress who post videos to their official websites are bound by the same rules that govern taxpayer-funded mail pieces: no overtly political or partisan messages, no mention of elections, no solicitation of support for legislation or a candidate.

But Rep. Darrell Issa appears to have figured out the print rules do not really apply to video.

As the top Republican on the Oversight and Government Reform Committee, Issa’s staff has posted dozens of videos to the committee’s website and YouTube page that mock the Obama administration, ask viewers to oppose legislation and mention electoral politics — all paid for with taxpayer money.

Issa’s office argues that none of the videos violate any House rule or guideline, and that Democrats have posted videos that are just as political.

The real problem, Issa’s spokesman said, is that the House Administration Committee has failed to publish clear rules for what Members can and cannot say in a video.

...

But Issa’s staff, operating under the nom-de-film Oversight Productions, has produced videos resembling campaign issue ads and posted them to the Oversight Committee website or the Oversight Republicans’ channel on YouTube.

5. Yet He Is A Member Of Congress
The fuckwit is a GD felon. In most states felons can't vote but this asshole crook is in Congress. The people who elected him are fucking crazy, I am so glad I left that shit hole (San Diego) in 1983.

6. And I blindly jumped right into that hole.
It sickens me to no end that he's my congressman. Never did I think that moving meant considering who the politicians are. It's a lesson I'll never forget.

7. I Went To High School In PB Great Place Then
Fabulous beaches and beautiful people. Then Ray-Gun got inserted and San Diego went mad. All of the cool little coastal hamlets began to parrot La Jolla. The even gentrified OB for fuck sake. The inland areas were always more right but when PB MB and OB got into the RW act I split.

Northern CA is a way better place to be. Sorry Issa is your rep, he is TRASH and a fucking FELON.

8. Yeah, PB was the first place I lived
when I moved here, Loved it - but the college kids way too rowdy. Moved further to the Hillcrest area where Susan Davis is the rep and ran into her a few times just out and about on the street. Very nice woman!
Now I'm further north due to a death and 2more years my step daughter graduates from high school, and I'm out of here for damn sure. I nearly became a criminal during the '08 elections tempted to trash all the Gigantic Palin-McCain (seriously in that order) signs.

Thanks for the sympathy. It's really trying here
