(Sen. Mitch) McConnell proposal: No one to pay higher taxes next year
Source: MSNBC

While House Minority Leader John Boehner said he's open to extending the Bush tax cuts for those making less than $250,000 -- if that's all he can get -- Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell is clear he wants that extension for those who make more than $250,000.

On the Senate floor, McConnell said he's introducing legislation today "that ensures that no one in this country will play higher income taxes next year than they are right now."

1. I'm sure 41 votes will be enough to get this voted on.
Though it takes 65 to do anything else.

2. Since the current tax rates are no small part of the reason we are where we are today: stay
the course. ;)

4. Which lets Republicans keep exploiting the debt to gain political points.
Look what happened last decade with the Bush tax cuts. Does McConnell's bill include "defund everything" too given you gotta cut spending when you cut taxes? Or do Republicans just wanna manufacture shit and yell "You started it!" to Democrats. Just wondering. (Note that under tax cuts, Bush increased spending on some Medicare program and wars.)

5. I agree...
The wealthy are paying less taxes today due to a 10-year reduction on the part of Bush and the GOP. Letting those cuts expire, as Bush and the GOP wanted them to, will bring their taxes up to the amounts they're suppose to be paying.

No more...no less...
