This is a poll of "likely voters" which means that it is accurate only if those not expected to vote do not vote.

1. JOBS, JOBS, JOBS
It is all about the economy.

Anytime unemployment gets to 13% the party in power looses.

2. Uhh, can voters really trust the job-outsourcing CEO Whitman?
She can't be the same Whitman who helped outsource many eBay jobs last decade.

Regarding the "party in power", the governor and lt. governor are currently Republicans, so are you implying that Brown may have a chance? Or because the federal govt. is Democrat-dominated people are just gonna emotionally vote Republican?

and have never seen ONE Jerry Brown ad on TV or heard one on the radio.

Meg has been on millions of times, most bashing Brown.

No wonder why she is leading. In fact, the way his campaign has been run, I seriously doubt that he is the man for the job.

46. i just watched one of Brown's ads
and it was incredibly disappointing. "no new taxes without voter approval?" what the hell.

this country has been reducing taxes for the last 30+ years and CA is no exception. the problem isn't that there are too many taxes, the problem is that the wealthy aren't paying their fair share, nor are large corporations. the fact that nutmeg has hundreds of millions of her own money to use on ads is screaming proof of that truth. Exxon made 19B in profit last year and got a REFUND from the government, funded with *your* tax dollars, and paid no taxes at all.

once upon a time jerry at least pretended to be a real liberal and wouldn't have shied away from saying those things.

30. Not what I meant at all...
But I have been waiting for JB to do SOMETHING, ANYTHING, to combat her attacks and he has DONE NOTHING AT ALL. And I don't want a governor that does nothing.

I have tried to work on his campaign and cannot even get a return call or email, even though i have experience working on the Kucinich campaign and the Obama campaign. Horribly run, horribly organized.

Not what I want out of my Governor.

Does that mean I will vote for Meg Whitman? NO FUCKING WAY. But still it is disheartening to see all of her ads and never not once see any of his ads or even a response.

But unless he all of a sudden gets it going (highly unlikely) he is going to be drubbed in the election and that is not me, it is the people.

14. Stop these racist, hypocrite, homophobic, fascist, authoritarian idiots from buying these seats!
People, it is time to show these billionaires whose country it is. They are only a very small percentage of the population owning 95% of the wealth and 100% of the perks. While we've suffered tremendously, they have gain wealth by 17% over the last year or so. Do you really think they want anything to change? Hell no! We cannot let this continue. This country cannot survive another 1 year, let alone 4 or 8 years of these tyrannical, mainly GOP, traitors in office. These people are UN-American and should be treated as such. They think they can rule us with their guns, fear, and preaching when all the while they are breaking every law out there. Please vote for the financially less fortunate candidate. At least you know that person is running on disgust with the status quo and almost nothing but determination and hopefully, integrity. Check the records of these people. Don't just listen to the wealthy candidate's bullshit commercials. They are LYING to you to make themselves richer!!!! They will stoop to anything for $$$$$$!

DEMOCRATS GET OUT AND VOTE DEMOCRAT OR WE'LL TRULY START SUFFERING.

And I told them I will be voting for Jerry Brown. My guess is NutMeg won't do the debates like Brewer. Neither one likes questions they can't control. She knows she will come out looking like Brewer if she debates Jerry. The stupid don't like debates. In 2000 California was the 5th largest economy in the WORLD. After Republicans Bush/Cheney took over it was all over for us.

Edited because I got my crazies mixed up Angle/Brewer.

Of course, Meg would probably do the same thing. But that just shows how pointless these "elections" are. Here's a better idea: choose the governor and legislature at random, like we do juries. Ancient Athens did this with some good results.

41. Meg's latest ad........blatant distortion of history
tries to sound as if Meg Whitman started eBay. "Meg started with 30 people........" blah blah.

Meg Whitman did not start eBay. EBay was a successful corporation thought up by an innovative nerd. He hired her as a ballbreaker. Can I say that? Anyway it's the best word for it.

What she was hired to do she did. With relish, they say.

My fellow Californians, do you really want to be under that woman's thumb? Really?

43. I Believe This
Whitman is spending so much money and she's made it clear there's more where all that's come from. This kind of self-financing has got to stop. Don't count Jerry out - he's a fighter (ask Bill Clinton) - but it's hard to win when the fight is being fought in a ring bought and paid for by your opposition. I've heard figures of almost $200 Whitman dollars to every Brown $1. It's just crazy.
