As of Monday, March 29, 589 U.S. service members have died since the beginning of military operations in Iraq (news - web sites) a year ago, according to the Department of Defense (news - web sites). Of those, 398 died as a result of hostile action and 191 died of non-hostile causes, the department said.

Since May 1, when President Bush (news - web sites) declared that major combat operations in Iraq had ended, 451 U.S. soldiers have died — 283 as a result of hostile action and 168 of non-hostile causes, according to the military.

I find it stunning that "You're either with us or against us", yet those countries who are "with us" don't get their dead counted in our tallies.

They are just as much victims of and a part of the cost of this war.

and deep down in every US citizens soul, they know they are ignoring it, and they know its going on, and they know its a fraud, and they can barely live with the truth of it coming into their minds that our kids and other people's kids have been sent into a war for nothing except to make Bush's wealthy friends wealthy.

I can only imagine what this poor mother must be feeling. I am so thankful my son decided not to join the Army out of HS. My heart goes out to Mrs. Roop.
