With Recovery Slowing, the Jobs Outlook Dims
Source: NY Times

There is no more disputing it: the economic recovery in the United States has indeed slowed.

The nation’s economy has been growing for a year, with few new jobs to show for it. Now, with the government reporting a growth rate of just 2.4 percent in the second quarter and federal stimulus measures fading, the jobs outlook appears even more discouraging...

“We need 2.5 percent growth just to keep the unemployment rate where it is,” said Christina Romer, chairwoman of the president’s Council of Economic Advisers. “If you want to get it down quickly, you need substantially stronger growth than that. That’s what I’ve been saying for the last several quarters, and that’s why I’ve been hoping that we’ll please pass the jobs measures just sitting on the floor of Congress.”

1. There was a big finance guy on CNBC earler this week saying the same thing
In fact he not only stressed jobs, he also stressed we need to increase incomes as well if we want a recovery (incomes rarely gets mentioned on MSM).

11. When your country is run by a Predatory Class of Criminals and Corrupt Corporations the intention
becomes clear.

They do not WANT incomes to increase.

The do not WANT people living well.

They do not WANT a Middle Class.

They want a Feudal Serf Class.

They only care about controlling the message and constructing the illusions until they no longer need them.

Strap In.

You haven't seen anything yet.

3. Jobs lost helps no one
It is not about politics. It is about people losing jobs.

4. My gig is growing 100% (expected) this year.
We can't find and hire people fast enough... people are (literally) walking in off the street and being interviewed by the executives in a matter of hours.

10. Wow, that's cool. I hope my husband can find job like that when he gets out
Of school. He's a graphic designer whose in web design school right now. There was no print work to be found when we moved so he decided to try Internet design. Sounds like it could pay off. We're sure hoping so...

7. The double-dip is coming fast, we need more help!
The double-dip is coming fast, and we need more help. I hope Congress can come up with some sort of stimulus plan that doesn't involve pumping another trillion dollars into greedy banks.

8. A stimulus only helps for a while
In the long run a stimulus hurts more than it helps. In the short term it helps.

We got the short term benefit and now we pay the price for the benefits we got.

12. This is not surprising. Businesses refuse to hire and expand..
They are still in the hunker down mode hoarding billions in cash... maybe they are waiting until after the elections.
