(Iraq Weapons Inspector) Dr Kelly 'couldn't have slit his wrist as he was too weak'
Source: Daily Mail

Dramatic new testimony has heaped pressure on ministers to reopen the investigation into the death of Dr David Kelly.

A female colleague claims that the UN weapons inspector could not have committed suicide as claimed, as he was too weak to cut his own wrist. Mai Pedersen, a U.S. Air Force officer who served with Dr Kelly's inspection team in Iraq, said a hand and arm injury meant that the 59-year-old even 'had difficulty cutting his own steak'.

In a letter to the new Attorney General Dominic Grieve through her lawyers, Miss Pedersen also said Dr Kelly had difficulty swallowing pills, casting serious doubt on the Hutton Inquiry conclusion that he swallowed 29 painkillers before slitting his left wrist.

Campaigners hope her extraordinary intervention will convince ministers of the need for a new investigation. Mr Grieve has already indicated that he believes the case could merit a further inquiry.

Had she testified at the Hutton Inquiry, Miss Pedersen would have revealed that in the months leading up to his death Dr Kelly was unable to use his right hand for basic tasks requiring any strength such as slicing food because of a painful elbow injury. Miss Pedersen says he would therefore have had to be a 'contortionist' to have killed himself by slashing his left wrist, as Lord Hutton concluded in 2004.

2. David Kelly post mortem to be kept secret for 70 years
David Kelly post mortem to be kept secret for 70 years as doctors accuse Lord Hutton of concealing vital information

By Miles Goslett
Last updated at 11:28 PM on 23rd January 2010

Vital evidence which could solve the mystery of the death of Government weapons inspector Dr David Kelly will be kept under wraps for up to 70 years.

In a draconian and highly unusual order, Lord Hutton, the peer who chaired the controversial inquiry into the Dr Kelly scandal, has secretly barred the release of all medical records, including the results of the post mortem, and unpublished evidence.

The move, which will stoke fresh speculation about the true circumstances of Dr Kellys death, comes just days before Tony Blair appears before the Chilcot Inquiry into the Iraq War.

It is also bound to revive claims of an establishment cover-up and fresh questions about the verdict that Dr Kelly killed himself.

4. Mai Pedersen has been one of the big question marks in my mind about this whole mystery.
She has been perhaps the most mysterious figure of them all--except for the assassins and whoever ordered this assassination. She was a friend, possibly a close friend, of Kelly and his family. Her ex-husband said she is a spook. She had some kind of mentoring role toward Kelly. I figured she was his CIA or USAF intelligence watcher. She was a very shadowy figure in the story, but she did speak up, at one point, and said that she did not believe that he committed suicide (she said this some time back)--but she then seemed to vanish into the haze. I don't know why she was not called to testify in the Hutton sham inquiry--perhaps she didn't want to, perhaps she was afraid to, or perhaps it was because she did not agree with their foregone conclusions. They excluded any testifiers who could contradict them (for instance, first responders and forensic experts who questioned their presumption of suicide).

I am VERY GLAD to see her come forward with this information about his disability. I have long felt that Kelly's death was murder--or felt about 99% that it was (based on a review of the Hutton report and other information)--and that a thorough and real investigation is essential. I also think that an investigation should look into possible connections to the outing of Valerie Plame and her Brewster-Jennings front company (and thus all of its counter-proliferation agents and contacts around the world). Plame was outed on 7/14/03. Kelly was found dead four days later. Both events occurred just as it was becoming obvious that there were no WMDs in Iraq. (My theory is that there was panic on both sides of the Atlantic, among the Bushites and the Blairites, about SOMETHING--one guess, possibly fear of disclosures about a plan to PLANT WMDs in Iraq.) Parallel time-lines of the two events should be studied for common denominators (common players like Judith Miller, activities of subordinates like Scooter Libby and Jack Straw, Bush-Blair phone calls (esp. the first week of July), and I would look very, very closely at everything Donald Rumsfeld and his "Office of Special Plans" were up to during that period--he's my pick for operations mastermind of ploys like planting WMDs in Iraq, perhaps with tracks to Iran, to extend the war then and there, and for eliminating any opposition to it or anyone who may have stumbled upon it, like Kelly for instance.)

5. No better assassination than a good suicide (this has Bush written all over it)
James Hatfield was suicided as were many others who came up against the BushNazis.

But the problem here is that this doesn't really look like a "good" suicide any more. And he said he was being threatened as I recall.

Hatfield's case was HIGHLY suspicious, but everyone just let it go...

Glad they are not letting this one go.

Hatfield was likely given "Rommel's Choice" (Kill yourself or we kill everyone you love, like his brand new infant daughter).

Rove and his boyz handled it (that is who had set him up and tried to ruin Hatfield)

Hatfield had predicted 9-11 in July 2001 and said it was a Bush operation (which was being reported by European intelligence services; a plot to fly planes laden with explosives into US targets.

7. Specious. She knows a wrist is not a steak at least as well as you do. She was an eyewitness to
just how unable to use his hand and arm he was, not only to his lack of ability to cut steak. Her observations led her to conclude that he was too weak to slit his own wrists.
