Associate says Aristide not interested in Nigeria's asylum offer

Ousted Haitian President Jean-Bertrand Aristide has no plans to take Nigeria up on its offer of temporary asylum.

So says African-American activist Randall Robinson. He's spoken with Aristide from his temporary home-in-exile in Jamaica.

Aristide arrived there last week from the Central African Republic.

Robinson accuses the U.S. and other countries of exerting diplomatic pressure to get Aristide out of the Caribbean by saying his presence there could increase tension in Haiti.
