Robots Deployed To Track Oil Spill

MIAMI (CBS4) ― More underwater robots are being deployed to track the progress of the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.

The new robots are about six feet long and use a SIM card similar to ones found in digital cameras for course direction. Scientists say these slow moving underwater cameras can not only detect where the oil is, but where it is going.

In the past these robots have been used to track red tides.

On Tuesday morning, one robot will be launched about 15 miles off Key West. Another will be deployed about 15 miles off the southwest Florida coast to search for signs of oil between Tampa and Charlotte Harbor.

it is coming out of a huge hole at an alarming rate.... oh wait... it the rate alarming or just distressing.... perhaps it is only a few gallons... oh wait it is a fucking eruption of oil coming out full force from a major wound in the surface of the planet.... it is strong enough to push aside everything we try to "drop on it"....

but please... could we have a measurement, because we want to know exactly HOW FAST we are fucking up the ocean...
