Bush Brands Kerry a Serial Tax-Raiser/tbo.com March 20, 2004
Mar 20, 4:21 PM EST

<snip>
President Bush used the first rally of his re-election campaign to cast Democrat John Kerry on Saturday as a serial tax-raiser who has voted for tax increases 350 times. He also mocked Kerry's claims of support from undisclosed foreign leaders.
<snip>

<snip>
There were a few voices both inside and outside the convention center to counter the support Bush received. A half-dozen anti-Bush college students were escorted from the hall before the president arrived despite holding tickets for the event and three more people were forced out after chanting "No more Bush" as the president made his way across the stage. About 80 protesters demonstrated outside, many gripping red balloons pointing out the expanding national debt under Bush's watch.
<snip>

<snip>
"We're beginning to see a pattern here," Bush said. "Senator Kerry is one of the main opponents of tax relief in the United States Congress. However, when tax increases are proposed, it's a lot easier to get a yes vote out of him."

4. G W Bush = Deficit Raiser
Red Ink George and his buddy Grover Norquist want to bankrupt the Federal Government.

John Kerry believes we should pay the bills when we get them.

That is the BIG difference

Bush = RED INK

5. This is just red meat for his base
Bush always seems to be talking directly to his base these days. No gay marriage, taxes are greatest evil in the world (after gays), etc.

6. I hope Kerry has a pit bull attack dog on his staff
if not, he needs to buy or rent one.

Maybe a Rottweiller also while he is at it.

These kinds of accusations cannot stand. We know this is his stump speech--he will repeat it over and over, because that is all he can do. Today's fascist like speech was indeed painful to watch for anyone who loves this country.

9. Breaking News Indeed!
This is a shocking turn of events! Do this mean that Bush is withdrawing his support of a Kerry Presidency? I better run to cable news, they must be wall to wall with this!

12. TBO.com, AKA, The Tampa Tribune and WFLA Channel 8....
Have always been right bent, they just sugar coat it. Notice the headlines "Bush Brands Kerry a Serial Tax-Raiser". They tow the party line, repeat something often and people will believe it. The headline could just as easily read "Kerry takes stance on taxes", or Kerry defends position on taxes. Figuring that a lot of people will only read the headline and not the story. So the headline is what gets imprinted on the brain. Can you say subliminal? Get my meaning.

14. The Tampa Tribune is one of the poorest excuses for a paper
that I have ever seen. My mother-in-law lives down there, and every time we visit I am astonished again at what a lousy paper they have serving that area.

17. This was a front page news story on Yahoo.com - why?
Why is this news? The right wing media is just repeating Bush's lies and getting them out to the people for free for Bush.

19. And the imagery in the article of violence and imminent danger
"It's pretty clear how he's going to fill the tax gap - he's going to tax all of you. Fortunately, you're not going to give him that chance."

Sounds like, "He's going to kill all of you."

22. Well, he knows his constituency well...
he minces no words with them - just straight to the hate-mongering fear...

Honestly if I was Kerry I'd retort: If I become president I'd make sure you can get a good job so you can even pay taxes. Instead of sending you to the poorhouse and on the welfare...

Sometimes I guess you have to speak plainly for most Americans to understand. A sad state of citizenry indeed.
