Ohio shooting suspect arrested in Las Vegas

COLUMBUS, Ohio (CNN) -- Charles McCoy Jr., the suspect in two dozen Ohio shootings, was taken into custody Wednesday in Las Vegas, Nevada, after a man saw his car in a motel parking lot and notified authorities.

McCoy, 28, was captured without incident, federal law enforcement sources said. He is suspected in 24 shootings since May, most of them targeting cars driving along Columbus' outerbelt highway. One of the shootings was fatal.

McCoy is charged with felonious assault in a December 15 shooting into a home two miles from Interstate 270 -- the highway on which most of the attacks occurred.
