DNC raised $11 million in October -- and is raising more off Sarah PalinUpdated at 3:23 PM
Source: WP

The Democratic Party raised $11.5 million in October, a record month for a non-presidential election year in the post-McCain-Feingold era, according to a party source.

That leaves the Democratic National Committee with $12.3 million in cash on hand and $4.4 million in outstanding debts. The Republican National Committee has $11.2 million cash and no debt.

All told, the DNC has raised $66.3 million so far this year, compared to the Republican National Committee's $69.2 million. Including transfers and in-kind donations, the total haul this year at the DNC was $73.3 million, compared to $76.9 million at the RNC, according to Democratic and Republican sources.

On Friday, the DNC e-mailed a fundraising solicitation that seeks to take advantage of former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin's return to the news.

"Remember, this is the person who coined the term 'Death Panels' -- and opened the flood gates for months of false attacks by special interests and partisan extremists," wrote Mitch Stewart, the director of Organizing for America, a project of the DNC that is the heir to the president's campaign organization, Obama for America.

"As we approach the final sprint on health reform, we can't afford more deception and delay. We need to be ready for anything -- and have the resources to respond with ads, events, and calls to Congress when the attacks come.

1. Two-party system, ain't it grand
One of our two parties has a nearly two-century history of pressing the interests of business over the interests of individuals.

The other party is getting more corporate contributions than the party of business.

As an individual, which party should I look to, to fight for my interests?

2. Folks folks folks
CNN has a big article up that the RNC took in 9 million. I checked everything even googled and not a mention that the Democrats out pulled em. CNN is getting almost as fair and balanced as Fox.

3. No more money from me...
Nothing, unless they start getting results. I will no longer pay them in hopes they will stop someone worse, from now on it is going to be the other
way around, they will need to earn my support by doing their jobs.

4. I totally agree with you!
We gave about $300 in 2004 towards Kerry's campaign. That was obviously a bust. I've decided that I refuse to contribute any more money to sound bites. That's all you're buying with this money. Let the deep pockets give out the money. Our financial situation has changed since 2004, as has everyone's. I am giving our charitable donations to animal rescue or a local homeless shelter. It's also tax deductible then, whereas political donations are not. The Democrats need to start fighting back and they just won't do it.
