Two Guantanamo Bay Detainees Sent to Belgium, Kuwait
Source: Bloomberg

Oct. 9 (Bloomberg) -- Two detainees being held at the Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, prison were transferred to Kuwait and Belgium, the Justice Department said today.

Khalid Abdullah Mishal al Mutairi, a native of Kuwait, was sent to Kuwait, and another detainee whose identity was withheld by the U.S. was sent to Belgium, according to a Justice Department statement.

President Barack Obama said he will close the Guantanamo detention facility, which houses about 221 prisoners, by Jan. 22. Attorney General Eric Holder told reporters this week that meeting the deadline will be difficult. The prison, which houses terror suspects, opened in 2002 under President George W. Bush.

The Obama administration has been reviewing the cases of the detainees to determine which ones should be transferred to other countries, put on trial or held indefinitely.

3. Don't worry. The vast majority of these "prisoners"
committed no crime at all but were simply sold to Donald Rumsfeld by the Northarn Alliance. The rest is just theater.
