Joe Wilson Gets Choked Up Over Floor Speech (does not plan on apologizing again)
Source: CBS News

On their way to taping “Washington Unplugged” on the balcony of the Senate Russell building Capitol Hill Correspondent Nancy Cordes and producer Jill Jackson ran into Rep. Joe Wilson, R-S.C., who told them he feels the Democratic leadership, who will issue a resolution of reprimand against him this afternoon, is using his comments has a "distration" from "real' issues. He also confirmed to CBS News that he will defend himself on the House floor this afternoon.

Cordes also asked the congressman about the speculation by some that this would not have happened to a president who was not black. "That's um a distraction," Wilson said. "The key point is the president has accepted my apology and I am very very grateful."

"He says he is still planning what he is going to say on the floor," Cordes said minutes later on the Webcast, but he told the CBS reporters that he does not plan on apologizing again for his comments.

Asked for a preview of his floor remarks, Wilson got choked up and said he would say he appreciate the American people and his family.

Wilson told Cordes and Jackson that it should suffice that he apologized to the highest office in the land, calling the White House after calling out "you lie!" during the president's address to a joint session of Congress last Wednesday.

17. Absolutely.
Until this clown can prove he is capable of respecting the office of the President and the traditions and protocol of the congress he should not be allowed to speak from the floor.

Actions have consequences.

to apologize to that Black man personally.

13. His apology to the president does not suffice...
...nor is the President "higher" than Congress, not according to our Constitution. He broke House rules and the House has the right and an obligation to enforce its own rules.

20. look it up, friend ...........
Joe Wilson did not embarrass the House, he embarrassed himself.

I realize the definition of embarrass can be used to describe the feelings generated by the embarrasser or the embarrassee. I also realize the definition makes about as much sense as the two words I just made up. On second thought, they sound pretty good to me. To the point, wouldn't you say?

You may be as idiotic, egotistical, homophobic, backward, red necky, crooked, sexually deviant, lying, stealing ... oh wait, just use republickan, everyone will know what that means ...... and I won't be embarrassed by anything you do or say. Sad, maybe, but yet enjoying watching republickans eat their young and destroy themselves.

15. Sorry ass Joe
Limbaugh told Joe he shouldn't have apologized the first time. So that ends that. No more apologizing unless Rush tell him it's
OK to do so and that will not happen. Joe thinks he's hot stuff now. He is ignorant and he has a following.

19. That self-aggrandizing dirtbag.
He should get together with all the other pitiful morons (Beck, Limbaugh, etc.) who fake emotions to capitalize on people's sympathy. Their pity party can be merged with the moronic tea parties and they can all lament in their pathetic dystopian view of society. These people need to realize there are real problems that need to be fixed and we can't waste time on their staged drama.

absolve Wilson of his offense to everyone else present, to both houses of Congress and to so MANY of those American people he is so teary eyed about.

Note to Wilson: The term "American people" does not consist solely of those who cheer you and donate to you over this. To the contrary, that group is a very small minority of the American people. I'm guessing most of the American people want you reprimanded, if not run out of town on a rail (whatever that means).
