Crowd jams Vitter health care forum
Source: Times Picayune, New Orleans

It's standing room only inside the Jefferson Parish Council chambers, and overflow crowds are amassed at the doors of the Joseph S. Yenni Building Elmwood, as Sen. David Vitter launches his town hall meeting on health care reform.

-snip-

Stuck just outside the door of the building, Millie Chenevert expressed frustrations rippling through the crowd.

"We came thinking that we were going to have a voice in this," Chevevert said. "People are being turned away and going home. This is wrong them not to give us a bigger venue."

Similar forums hosted by Democratic legislators around the country have prompted fiery and controversial demonstrations. The crowd at the event hosted by Vitter, a Republican, appears spirited but is not protesting against the senator.

1. At least they have forums they can try to attend.
In Nevada, they are planning 'phone in' forums (presumably to avoid the problems of loud mouth idjits). How does one participate in said 'phone in' forums? You wait for a phone call INVITING you to participate.

Participatory democracy in Nevada is invite only.

3. Probably works like all the telecons
I have to do at work. You sign up, call in and if you want to ask a question tell a moderator who will put you in line to ask it. I don't think you'll need to be invited, just need to check out the reps website for the date/time/number.

And yes, this is the response to the loud mouth idjits. They won't allow people to actually ask questions, as soon as you stand up they start chanting typical idjit slogans as taught to them by Glenn Beck, the RNC and the rest of the usual suspects.

5. Actually, they've done them here before -
they call you first and ask if you want to participate, then give you the number. Nothing on their websites.

Not quite the same thing, really. :(

It's a BS way of serving one's constituency, but it does keep them safe from the hoi polloi, I suppose.

2. Someone should ask him if he supports a health care program that...

will pay for adult diapers, for his "therapy sessions" with his hooker.

4. This is ridiculous
The Puke gets to have his TH without any problems but the Dems can't. Where are the Dems to protest Diaper Dave? I mean of all people. I mean how hard would it have been to buy a box of diapers and throw them into the crowd.
