3. You do realize that those companies whose stocks are up aren't LOCATED on Wall Street?
They are located all over the country. Those companies earnings are up. That's a good thing--when things continue to go well, when sales and profits go up, then the companies can hire more people.

4. I think lots of folks want the hiring to happen before the earnings are up.
It's a little bit of a chicken-and-egg thing. Is it hiring leads to more production, leading to more sales, leading to more hiring and earnings. Or is it more earnings lead to more hiring, leading to more production, leading to more sales, leading to more hiring and earnings? :)

6. Any business owner will tell you it's the latter.
We'd ALL love it if it were the former. "If I hire more people, I'll make more money? OK, I'll hire a million today!"

8. Those companies AREN'T in America, Common Sense Party.
They're located in the Cayman Islands, where they don't have to pay US taxes. And their factories and offices are in India and China, where slave labor gets paid $2 a day.

Get it through your thick skull: when the Dow Jones goes up, we Americans lose our jobs, our health care, and soon our lives. The Dow is a measure of human pain and misery.

11. Exactly
In many ways, the Dow going up means life is getting worse for 80% of Americans.

12. Notice how the MSM does not credit Obama with stopping the Dow from tanking...
Edited on Thu Jul-30-09 07:36 PM by Puzzler
... and yet, when it was tanking, many pundits in the MSM were slamming Obama.

Now that the Dow is up... nothing to see here, move on.
