Kerry E-Mail Move Irks Privacy Experts
Sen. John Kerrys (D-Mass.) presidential campaign used a controversial marketing practice offered by one of the countrys three credit bureaus to collect additional information last year about people who, according to the campaign, indicated that they would like to help the candidate in the primaries and caucuses.

Note: the entire article was one sentence. I, therefore, have included another link from Drudge to add details.

ROLL CALL reports on Thursday: The contracts with Equifax Marketing Services worth about $36,000 called for the company to find so-called 'appendages' in its massive consumer database. Appending is a practice that involves plugging bits of information into databases in order to collect e-mail addresses or flesh out consumer profiles. The practice has been widely attacked by consumer advocates, who consider it invasive.

1. You think BushCo didn't invent this, Drudge?
I'm sure Drudge would have screamed bloody murder had this practice been illegal. As it is, it's 'invasive.'

You should see the viagraenlargementworkfromhomeweightloss spam I get daily in my bulk email folder!

One political email from a presidential candidate (either one) doesn't bother me at all.

3. So who were the Privacy Experts?
Don't they have to have the specific people making the claims, before they make the claim that these "Privacy Experts" claimed this?

Or are they still FISHING the dudes up as we post about it?

Btw have they just recently moved to the Continent of Africa also ;-)

4. these shills are a friggin' joke
if they want to think "invasive" why are they not completely all over this:

I think the solution is largely associated with information technology. We must become much more efficient and more clever in the ways we find new sources of data, mine information from the new and old, generate information, make it available for analysis, convert it to knowledge, and create actionable options.
